After putting up with one of the digital weight and body fat scales for several years, one which never reflected accurate body fat readings or consistent weight readings, I decided to order this simple weight-only scales as it had a huge number of very high ratings. I figured simpler is better, and in this case, I wanted a solidly accurate weight measurement. I have not been disappointed. It arrived very quickly, was packed well, and was up and running with no real calibration needed. The weight is exactly the same no matter how many times you step on and off it. It’s a nice solid, square platform, and I like the fact that it doesn’t have an “on-off” button like my previous scales, you just step on the scales and your weight appears. It measure in two tenths of a pound increments, which I like. The backlit display is easy to read bright neon blue with black numbers, and can be seen in low light or even in the dark. I can’t comment on the longevity of this scales as I haven’t had it that long, but I am very pleased with it thus far. The manufacturer seems very responsive and wants very much to totally please the consumer with a perfect product, which is a nice change and one thing that influenced me in the buying decision. Many of the positive reviews commented on the fast, responsive and concerned customer service when needed. That’s a HUGE change in today’s consumer world and well worth considering when choosing a product like this. I felt very confident in choosing this particular brand of scales.
UPDATE: February, 2016. I have now had this scales 5 years, still working great. It gets weird and inaccurate when the batteries get low, but of course they are easy to replace. They seem to last about a year, maybe a bit less. I like it the fact that it uses AA batteries rather than the button type. The accuracy still seems great, and weights all seem consistent. This was a good purchase!
UPDATE: October, 2017. Still workiing fine. I just ordered a second EatSmart Scales, the body composition one.
