Performance
A great washer for household cleanups. For most household chores, reviewers say, the Ryobi RY14122 is an excellent pressure washer. Owners who expect the cleaning power of a gas model are certain to be disappointed, but those with realistic expectations say that it packs plenty of power for cleaning cars, decks, siding and masonry, as well as effective removal of pollen, mildew, mold and mulch stains. Reach, however, is limited, so it’s not appropriate for cleaning the upper levels of a home or other tall jobs. Many owners compliment the solid construction, but reports of units that failed shortly after purchase are not unheard of. However, the Ryobi is backed by one of the longest warranties of any pressure washer we spotted — three years — and if you get a lemon, it can be returned hassle-free to Home Depot, the exclusive retailer for this model, within 90 days for refund or exchange.
Features
Three spray nozzles for control. The Ryobi RY14122 comes with three spray nozzles for maximum versatility. Those include a high power turbo nozzle for tough tasks (though extra care should be exercised if it is used), a 15 degree spray nozzle for typical tasks and a low pressure soap/rinse nozzle for more gentle cleaning — and most owners say that assortment perfectly meets their needs. If it doesn’t, the pressure washer can accept additional industry standard quick connect nozzles. There’s also a detergent tank and on-board storage for accessories for added convenience.
Ease of use
Compact and easy to operate. Reviewers say the Ryobi RY14122 is easy to set up and operate. Assembling the unit for first time use is a snap, too. It’s compact for easy storage. There’s no hose reel, but the hose hanger and very flexible 25-foot hose are well liked.
